Jen Campbell er en engelsk forfatter, hun har studert engelsk litteratur ved Edinburgh university. Hun bor nå i London og jobber i en antikvarisk bokhandel. Hun har gitt ut noveller og poesi før hun ga ut den første «weird things customers say in Bookshops» som kom ut i 2012. Hun holder for tiden på å skrive sin første roman.

HERLIG LITEN SAK!

I romjulen fikk jeg nyss i at forfatteren bak den herlige sitatboken «Weird things customers say in Bookshops» hadde kommet ut med enda en bok med nye sitater måtte den bare kjøpes. Boken fikk jeg i posten i dag og dermed var det tid for en time med mye latter!
Slik startet herligheten: The world of bookselling is anything but boring. In the past year a drunk man has thrown up on my shoes, a woman convinced herself I was hiding Hugh Grant in our storeroom, and a little girl tried to get to Narnia through one of our cupboards. And that`s just the beginning.
Her kommer noen smakebiter på løpende bånd…

WOMAN (Holding a copy of a weight watchers book in one hand, and The hunger games in the other) which of these dieting books would you recommend most?

CUSTOMER ( to her friend): I only like books that I can really believe happend, you know? Like Twilight.

CUSTOMER: Do you have a copy of The Handmaid`s tale?BOOKSELLER: I`m afraid we sold our copy of that this morning. I can order it in for you,though.CUSTOMER: Can`t you just print a copy for me? From the internet?


(Elderly female customer is looking at the chart)CUSTOMER: I can`t believe everybody`s reading this Fifty shades…BOOKSELLER:I know. I take it it isn`t your cup of tea, then?CUSTOMER: Oh,no dear: been there, done that – no need to read about it!


CUSTOMER: Have you read….BOOKSELLER: ….CUSTOMER: Oh, never mind. You look to young to have read a good book.



 Dette var bare en liten knippe av sitatene  og boken er som du skjønner proppfull av morsomme og tildels idiotiske ting folk kan finne på å si.
